Serious Training. Real Growth. Inspiring Confidence.
ACT Foundations is a purposeful musical theatre training program designed specifically for students in grades 3–5 who are ready to grow beyond introductory performing classes and begin building real technique in voice, acting, and movement.
This is where young artists start to think, learn, and perform like theatre students, not just participants.
Unlike traditional group classes, ACT Foundations focuses on skill development and artistic confidence from day one. Students will explore foundational technique in:
ACT Foundations gives young performers a supportive, structured environment to build confidence, deepen their love for musical theatre, and strengthen the skills that will prepare them for more advanced training later.
Our weekly sessions give students the opportunity to grow consistently alongside peers who share their passion for theatre. Training is tailored to this age group. Vibrant, engaging, and appropriately challenging, we set a strong foundation for young performers who aspire to go further.
The fall semester will be primarily a period of training where students build a theatre foundation that will last them their entire lives. Students will perform in a short showcase on the final day of the fall semester in December.
The spring semester will begin with a review of everything they've learned and we will immediately jump into rehearsals for a semester showcase, which will be approximately 30-45 minutes in length. This will feature group numbers, solos, duets and more. We will have more information on this spectacular performance opportunity soon!
ACT Foundations takes place at The Atlanta Institute for Musical Theatre’s 7,000 square foot training home - a dedicated performance and rehearsal space that includes:
